You have two options to edit a 485.  If your agency uses the Barnestorm Point of Care system you must use the steps for editing in Point of Care.

If you use Barnestorm Point of Care to create the 485 from the assessment:

• If you need to modify the 485 when you created it from the assessments, it’s very important to modify the assessment first and then rebuild the 485.  This will ensure that the documentation from both the assessment and the 485 match.
• From Point of Care select the patient from the Select Patient screen.
• Select the Visits/Assessment screen.
• Select the visit from which the assessment was created from and click on the Edit button.  You may need to unlock the assessment or ask an Office staff to unlock it for you.
• Make the necessary changes within the assessment.
• Go to the Finish scree and click on the Build 485 Document button.
• Change any information on this screen, as needed.
• Click the Rebuild button. A message will appear asking if you want to overwrite the current 485 - click on Yes.
• You can Preview the 485 from here, as needed.

If you use Barnestorm Office to create the 485 from the 485 screen:

• Select the patient from the Select patient screen.
• Select the 485 screen.
• Select the episode that needs modified and make the necessary changes.
• Click on the X in the upper, right corner.  You will be asked if you want to save the changes – click on Yes.
