For agencies that bill Medicare, OASIS is required for all skilled care patients. One exception: in NC, if they are Medicaid supply only, those patients do not require OASIS.
Only OASIS for Medicare, Medicare HMO, Medicaid, and Medicaid HMO are actually transmitted, but the agency is required to complete the OASIS documentation as part of a complete assessment that may be audited.
