Virginia Department of Medical Assistance ServicesElectronic Visit Verification (EVV)Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)Revised December 16, 2022:  "The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) has received a Good Faith Extension from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to delay the implementation of EVV for Home Health Care Services. A Medicaid Bulletin located at https://vamedicaid.dmas.virginia.gov/bulletin/medicaid-home-health-care-services-hhcselectronic-visit-verification-evv-project-update has been issued. What must be in the EVV electronic record?Answer: The EVV electronic record must contain the six data elements required by the CURESAct. This includes (i) the type of service performed; (ii) the individual receiving the service; (iii)the date of the service; (iv) the beginning and ending location of service delivery; (v) theindividual providing the service, and; (vi) the time the service begins and ends. For Home HealthCare Services only one location is required.
